KEY POINTS: GCSE Results

In our school, 77.3% of the GCSE exams taken received an A* to C pass. The national figure is 67.1%.

National figures show that 98.6% of all GCSE level examinations were awarded a pass. In Tolworth Girls' School 99.6% received pass grades.

Nationally about 55% of students obtain five, or more, A* to C grades. In our school over 75% obtain these grades and, incredibly, almost 50% obtain ten or more A* to C grades. A new record!

Sixteen of our students obtained A or A* grades in every full GCSE course taken and all of them took at least 11 examinations!

FAST TRACK

FT1

A big success has been our fast track scheme. Year 9 & 10 students are able to take GCSE in Design & Technology early. They can then go on to take AS Level in Year 11 and A Level in Year 12. Students undertaking the fast track scheme have all relished the opportunity, working extra sessions ; and achieving a 100% pass rate; 80% at grade A, despite taking the exam early.

Tt2

These are some of the examples of work by the Year 9 fast track students in the Innovation Challenge. This is a unit in the GCSE exam. This exam assesses the students creativity and problem solving abilities.
